Daniel Mahony
Solicitor
After graduating with an LLB in 1996 from Plymouth, Daniel embarked on a successful career in telecoms. Starting at Telewest (now Virgin Media’s) head office in Woking, Daniel quickly moved from regional billing support to working on the small team overseeing the migration of various billing system used by other cable operators that had been acquired by Telewest. In 1999, Daniel moved to Level 3 Communications, a US-based start-up internet infrastructure provider, and led the European billing team from London with direct reports in Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels and Frankfurt. After completing the project to move local billing support to Denver, Colorado in 2006, Daniel wanted a break from the big corporates and started working with former colleagues from Telewest who had established their own niche, business-to-business telecoms company some years earlier.
Realising that he was actually very good at law, coupled with a dogged determination to see justice done Daniel refreshed his knowledge of the law by sitting the GDL at the University of Law in 2019-2020, and he graduated from there in 2021 with a distinction in his LPC.
Having qualified as a solicitor Daniel is busy advising on a variety of legal areas such as commercial litigation, matrimonial and property disputes. Daniels passion for the law, engrossed and attentive nature has made him a favourite with the firms clients.
Outside of work, Daniel is a keen cyclist and regularly undertakes charity rides, most recently Land’s End to John O’Groats for the second time, to raise money for research into Parkinson’s disease which has affected members of his family. He is also the proud owner of a Golden Retriever called Cooper who can often be found in the office helpfully redistributing shoes and staplers.
